Music that Describes Kimberly

Kimberly Forquer was nominated anonymously.

Ms. Forquer has been with Billings Public Schools for 25 years and enjoys working with students in every capacity. She believes that in order to create a positive classroom environment, there needs to be mutual respect. To accomplish this, the entire class needs to be active listeners and support each other. Ms. Forquer has held positions in and out of the classroom and is able to reach children either way, as they know she is a constant source of support to them. Students at Billings Senior High often come from home lives where they are independent and, therefore, rarely have meals made for them. This can lead to students who need access to healthy foods and beverages in the classroom.

Kim is one of the kindest humans you will ever meet. Because of that, students are drawn to her. That bonding allows her to get kids on board with projects they might not do for someone else. She makes a difference in our school and community.

If you looked up the definition of a “life changer,” you might find a description of an event, experience, or person that profoundly impacts someone’s life. But what should appear there is a picture of Ms. Kim—surrounded by the many students whose lives she has shaped, consoled, and nurtured. Ms. Kim has an extraordinary ability to sense the emotional needs of students. She understands that one of the most powerful ways to connect with them is through genuine care—and often, through snacks. Her heart is as generous as her pantry. She is, without a doubt, one of the kindest, most loving, and most genuine people I’ve ever had the pleasure to work with. Her patience, compassion, and steady presence set her apart. We've all had our fair share of challenging students—everyone, perhaps, except Ms. Kim. She has a rare gift for building rapport with even the most difficult students, often in the most trying circumstances. When Ms. Kim is absent, her presence is noticeably missed. Students seek her out—not just for the snacks she always seems to have on hand, but because they know she sees them. Every single one. She makes it a point to learn each student’s name, making them feel valued, welcomed, and understood. Ms. Kim is more than an educator. She’s a constant source of kindness and light. She is, in every sense of the word, a life changer.

My sister, Kimberly Forquer, has always thought of my four children as her own. She loves her niece and three nephews. She has taken me and my children to Chuck E. Cheese, Bones Arcade, numerous parks and numerous restaurants to celebrate our birthdays, holidays, special occasions, spring break, winter break and summer vacation. She had my son and daughter stay the night at her house and take them to South Park to swim, Chuck E. Cheese to eat and play, numerous parks to play, the Burger King play area to eat and play, McDonald’s play area to eat and play and get pizza and cake for them at her house. They would watch movies and play video games and board games and put together puzzles. She would bake cookies and brownies with them. She would do bake cookies and brownies for my family along with other baked goods. She is always giving my family treat bags with candy, money, baked goods, cards, gift cards, clothes, paintings she has painted for us, hand me downs, crafts she has made for us and toys for their birthdays and holidays. Kim has went on walks with my family with our dogs and her dogs. When Kim was the attendance clerk at Will James, two of my friends each had two kids attending Will James and they would tell me how kind, caring and attentive Kim was to them and their children. She went out of her way each and every day for them and their children. We love you Aunt Kim and all you do for us and others!!!

Ethan Shoemaker Posted 11 months ago

Aunt Kim took me and my family to the Zoo, bowling at Sunset Lanes and Fireside Lanes and miniature golfing at Geyser Park. Aunt Kim sends us gifts in the mail. Aunt Kim takes me and my family out to eat at restaurants for our birthdays. I love you Aunt Kim!!!!

Kim’s always fun to be around. I feel like she has really helped my daughter, Madison, a lot at Senior High. She really seemed to relate to her and get through to her with great advice. Kim also sent my daughter, Madison, a package in the mail with a saying to help her get through a rough time in her life loosing her boyfriend in a horrific car accident along with three other children. We really appreciate all she does.

Noah Shoemaker Posted 11 months ago

Aunt Kim gives my family presents on Holidays. Aunt Kim takes my family to go painting with her. Aunt Kim takes me and my family to the Reef with her, the Oasis and Rose Park Pool. Aunt Kim makes me yummy cookies to eat. Aunt Kim takes me and my family to the movies with her. Aunt Kim takes me and my family to the pictograph caves with her. Aunt Kim takes me and my family river rafting with her down the Yellowstone River, the Musselshell River and the Stillwater River. Aunt Kim takes me and my family zip lining with her and horseback riding with her. Aunt Kim takes me and my family to Red Lodge with her. Aunt Kim helped my sister, Madison, at Senior High by giving her food and drinks and coloring pages to do during Study Hall. I am excited to see Aunt Kim at Senior High this year since I will be a freshman. I love you Aunt Kim!!!

Kim is a kind, caring human who has devoted her life to working with kids. When I worked with her, she was a secretary. I think secretaries run our schools. They have the hardest job. Now, Kim works as a para professional. She has the patience of a saint! The teachers and students are lucky to have her on their team!

Brenda Posted 11 months ago

Rhonda :) Posted 11 months ago

LifeChanger of the Year is not even close to the award Kim needs. She is worthy of soooo much more!! Every single day, she changes lives. Whether it is the lives of children at school, family members or adults. Kim is always going above & beyond. Kim is open & honest with everyone. The biggest thing...Kim is genuine...and everyone sees that in her. She has overcome some personal situations in life over the last year that nobody should ever have to face. She has taken every step with grace & poise. She puts herself on the back burner every single day to be there for others. Kim is the kindest most wonderful person you will ever have the pleasure of meeting. She is ALWAYS there for students...no matter what. She thinks of things that they will need or want or just enjoy. She pays for everything out of her own pocket, because it is so important to her that she doesn't want finances to be a reason for kids to not have what they need. Kim is always finding ways to make people feel special. Whether it's a cute handmade gift or displaying something you gave her, Kim is always looking for ways to make people feel like they matter. She makes personal sacrifices every day, just to bring smiles to the faces of those around her. She never has a negative word to say about anyone. She is always the first with an encouraging word. She loves to see people succeed! Students are drawn to her. She is sunshine in a dreary world. She loves bringing joy to others. If you need Kim...at any hour of the day (& even during the night), she is there for you. She is better than any best friend you could ever have!! I wish I could be half the person that Kim is. The world is a much better place, just because she is in it!! Our kids need more examples like Kim. She IS changing lives. Whether or not she gets an award for it... she will continue. She is such an inspiration to me and to anyone who happens to be lucky enough to cross her path. Kim deserves this title. She will carry this title with her every day, for the rest of her life...because this is her mantra... to be a LifeChanger!!! She's an overwhelming blessing. I'm thankful for all that she has done to change my life & make me a better person. I'm thankful for the privilege of watching her change the lives of students every day. I'm thankful for the selfless acts that she brings to each day. I'm thankful that the students, staff & parents of Billings Senior High School get the extreme pleasure of Mrs. Forquer!!! I am humbled by the amazing woman that she is... you should be too.

Simon Posted 11 months ago

Kim is one of the most positive, caring people I have ever met. Her genuine smile lets students and all those around her feel safe and loved. Senior High is so lucky to have her as a Paraprofessional, and I can’t think of a more deserving person for this award.

Kathy Miller Posted 11 months ago

I worked with Kim many years ago at Billings Senior High school. During my time there, I found her to be a kind, caring person who really loves kids. I know her to have a good work ethic, and a high sense of professionalism. I think she's a real advocate for kids. Kim would be perfect for this award!

Katie Rehberg Posted 11 months ago

Kim is the sweetest. She lifts up everyone around her, even on her worst days. Her smile and kindness is a beacon that helps guide others through their own storms. When she says, “how are you?” You know she truly wants to know. She is a visible member of our school community, never hunkering down in her own space but out in the common areas where people can interact with her. And she uses our “Thank a Bronc” forms to send notes to people in our building (that mean the most, when you feel like you are just grinding!) Kim is very deserving of this!

Chellsea Posted 11 months ago

Mrs. Forquer has the kind of heart and soul we need all people working with children to have. No one more deserving of this!

Alice Posted 11 months ago

Kim is a life-changer at our school. She has had many different positions that have impacted students, but my favorite was her transformation of our Study Hall into a classroom where students were engaged from the beginning to the end. She managed (in one year) to change a decades long environment of students being allowed to sleep and disrupt others to a room that functioned like any other classroom in our building. And our students love her for it.

Tal Posted 11 months ago

My wife Kimberly lives day to day to make other people's days brighter. She is giving of herself to everyone she meets and feels empathy deeply for others. She has had to overcome some major obstacles in her life but she has never given up or lost her dedication to make the world a better place. I believe she deserves this award above all others because she gives so much of herself and expects so little in return.

Kathy Posted 11 months ago

I worked with Kim for many years at Senior High. She is a kind, caring and empathetic person. When Kim interacts with a student they can feel her genuine interest in them. She is a special person who is very deserving of this nomination.

Carissa Mann Posted 11 months ago

I've have known Kim since high school! She has such a kind heart! Even at her toughest times she is thinking about how she can help others in similar situations. I can't imagine there could be anyone that deserves this award more!!

When I think of this award, Kim would be a perfect candidate. She has such a genuine heart and touches every persons life in a positive way. The staff and students are blessed to have Kim in the hallways at Senior High. She always has a smile on her face and checking in with everyone. It’s truly a blessing to have Kim in my life!

Lana Dervishian Posted 11 months ago

Kim is a genuinely kind hearted person. She always has a smile on her face and greets you with a warm, welcoming personality. Kim makes every student feel valuable and seen which is evident in how even the most reserved, shy, and guarded students feel comfortable enough to be their authentic self in her presence. It is truly a blessing to staff and students to have Kim on our side. Thanks Kim!

Kim demonstrates her willingness to help and support kids every day. She is calm and welcoming to all those she crosses paths with in the halls. She continues to learn and grow in ways that help the school and we appreciate all she does.

Aaron Crawford Posted 11 months ago

Kim was the first person at my new job to include me and offer me support. She is empathetic to everyone around her including the young people. She sees them, hears them, and wants to help them find positive solutions in thier life. She has some unique challenges in her life that have challenged her to create different pathways then she had planned for her life. Her success in her challenges makes her the perfect candidate for this award.

Tami Schroeckenstein Posted 11 months ago

Kim is genuinely one of the sweetest people I have met. She does everything with the kids in mind and they can see that. Our students at Senior are lucky to have her in their corner.

Gabriel Ghafoorian Posted 11 months ago

My Aunt Kim has been a ray of sunlight each and every year my family visits Billings. She finds her joy in bringing others up. She is the most compassionate and hard worker I know; the love she sends into our family is directly reflected in her care and effort for her students. There is never a dull moment with Kim, she truly takes every opportunity to make you smile and it sure has worked on me.

Haven Kiner Posted 12 months ago

She definitely deserves this. She is the greatest secretary at senior. I couldn't name one person she hasn't helped

Jennifer Shoemaker Posted 12 months ago

My sister Kimberly Forquer should receive the Life Changer award. She has always shown compassion and kindness to me and my four kids. She has given my daughter snacks and beverages during study hall at Senior High and art projects to do while in Study Hall like coloring pages. She is always thinking of the students first and foremost. I gave her Boy Scout popcorn and she had a microwave to pop it in for her students in Study Hall/ISS. She was always giving them snacks when needed and told my daughter she could come anytime to her classroom if she was hungry. She was painting pumpkins during Halloween with her students and painting canvases with them and hanging their artwork in her classroom. She let the students help her decorate her door every season and holiday. The students have always came first for Kimberly Forquer. She wants to make school a fun and inviting place for them to want to be there and come back day after day. She has helped numerous students out of her own pocket with snacks and drinks while in her classroom. Kimberly Forquer started a scholarship for college at MSU-B in honor of her son and presented it to the recipient in May 2025. Even while she lost her only son, she was thinking of a way she could help other students with a scholarship in honor of her son, Dylan. Kimberly Forquer is always thinking of my four children and giving them hand me downs, baked goods, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Easter, Valentines Day, Christmas and birthday gifts, gift cards, cards and money. She is so kind and giving and is willing to help anyone and everyone who needs it.

Rhonda Posted 12 months ago

I worked with Kim when she first started working for School District #2 for the Early Childhood intervention program. Kim has an amazing ability to meet families and students where they are, and is always respectful. Kim’s years of experience with various populations makes her incredibly well rounded and knowledgeable. She never stops trying to make this world a better place and we are all blessed to have her caring for our students.

Hope Wilson Posted 12 months ago

I have worked with Kim for several years while at Senior High. She is an incredible human! Kim has the kindest heart and truly will do anything for anyone. Her passion for students and their education is nothing but amazing.

Kristen Brook Posted 12 months ago

Kim is an inspiration. I have known Kim for around 15 years. I have rarely seen a staff member fight so hard to understand & care for students! She is a listener, an advocate & will fight for the best interest of any kid!

Anastasia Posted 12 months ago

Kim has been my sister-in-law for 28 years now. Throughout the years, I have witnessed her kindness within our family and watched her selflessly commit to family and her students. She goes above and beyond every time, and she always puts others before herself. Her active mind comes up with creative projects and ideas that captivate students and others around her. She uses art as a tool for self-exploration, therapy, and relaxation and encourages others around her to do the same. She extends this kindness to children and family and to everyone she meets and acknowledges the hardships that people face at every stage in life, recognizing that some of the most difficult hardships are faced by teenagers who do not receive the support they need to make it through challenging times. Kim deserves this award 100 times over!!

Barby Posted 12 months ago

Kim has always been a supporter of the students at the school she works at. It's obvious the kids look to her as a mentor as they are always dropping by her office to share their day with her. She has a bright, sunny disposition, and bubbles with enthusiasm for the students smallest successes. She is always a delight to be around at the school and is someone whom anyone can go to for support, smiles, care and concern.

Tara Whitmore Posted 12 months ago

Deborah Horton Posted 12 months ago

I met Kim when I went back to work after 21 years as a stay-at-home mom in 2011. She was one of the first friends I made at Senior High, and her enormous heart and kind spirit shone out of her from that first meeting. Kim has a tremendous heart, and her kind, caring spirit is on display 24/7. She cares deeply about others, especially her family, friends, and the students at Senior High School. She has worked in many capacities at the school, and every single one of them has touched the lives of hundreds and hundreds of students daily. She provides them acceptance, ears that listen, a mind with caring advice, food if they need it, hugs galore, and advocating for them on every level that she possibly can. Kim has gone through some tremendous adversities in her own life, and despite these things, she has never lost her ability to care for others. Even after one of the most devastating events imaginable, she STILL kept her loving heart and kind, caring spirit. In fact, that event spurred her on to become involved in even more ways to help others who might experience the same thing. Kim is my best friend, and after 14 years, her love, friendship, and support for me have only grown bigger. There is no more deserving person I can think of to be nominated for such an award. If Kim were to win, she would not feel that the award is for her but for all the students she wants to help in so many ways. Love you friend ?

Tara Posted 12 months ago

I’ve known Kim since we were in middle school, and it has been a privilege to watch her continue to care for and support students with such compassion and dedication throughout her career. She was my own kids’ attendance clerk in middle school and has been a trusted presence at Senior in various roles. This year, I’m lucky to have her joining our special education team as a para, and I couldn’t be more excited. Kim brings a nurturing, steady presence to every space she’s in—students know they are safe, seen, and supported with her. Her strength, especially over this past year, and her unwavering commitment to students and staff alike, is nothing short of inspiring. Kim truly is a LifeChanger in every sense of the word.

Cathy Burton Posted 12 months ago

Kim is definitely worthy of this award! She is a changer of the kids who really have nothing but the relationships at school. Kim constantly provides support, supplies and snacks to help them get through their day.

Ary Posted 12 months ago

I just wanna say Ms. Kim is seriously one of the nicest and most understanding people ever. Like, she didn’t just teach — she actually cared. She made her students feel safe and heard, and that’s something not a lot of teachers do. She really deserves the Life Changer of the Year Award. I mean it. She’s impacted so many people in the best way, and I hope she knows how loved and appreciated she is. She’s just… one of a kind.
