Mr. Lowhar fosters a positive classroom environment by cultivating a strong culture of kindness and using restorative practices to guide students through conflict in a way that promotes growth and understanding. As a K–5 music teacher, Mr. Lowhar brings a unique and creative approach to teaching by writing original songs that reinforce classroom values and expectations. He composes short, engaging songs for redirection, helping students remember school rules in a fun and memorable way. One of his original compositions, "Make Joy Happen," is featured in a collaborative social-emotional learning (SEL) and music lesson, reinforcing the importance of joy, empathy, and emotional awareness. Through music, kindness, and meaningful relationship-building, Mr. Lowhar creates a joyful, supportive space where all students feel encouraged to learn, grow, and express themselves.
