Mr. Vang grew up without a father figure, and because of that, he looked to his teachers for guidance, structure, and inspiration. Those early educators shaped his path. Today, he's doing the same for his students. He understands what it means to need a role model, and he steps into that role for many children who may be missing that presence in their lives. To his students, Mr. Vang is not only a teacher, but he is also a mentor, a steady presence, and, for some, a father figure.
As a Hmong Immersion teacher, Mr. Vang is not only preserving a language and culture but also empowering students to embrace who they are. In his classroom, learning isn't just academic. Learning is cultural, emotional, and deeply personal. He instills pride in his students' heritage while helping them excel in reading, writing, math, and beyond.

Mr. Vang truly is a selfless educator & goes beyond his ability to help my daughter with seeing how resilient she is. He challenges & expects nothing but the best, and does it in a way that makes her feel comfortable with knowing her own strengths & what she needs to work on. He’s definitely made a difference in my daughter’s life and ours as well when it comes to helping our daughter grow.
