Ms. Cox is the heart of Cesar Chavez Middle School in Lynwood, CA. Through her passion, guidance, and leadership, she instills the skills that her students need to be successful in school and throughout their lives. She is warm and caring; and even on the busiest of days, she finds time to check in on the students who need her support the most.
Ms. Cox is a gem and a team player who is always helping at all times. She is also committed to being a role model outside her job. She is a pillar in the community who helps lead Girl Scout Troups and supports #girlpower.
"Thanks to Ms. Cox, these girls transform to young ladies with voice and grit. Ms. Cox is a strong, diligent, passionate counselor dedicated to equity for every child. Every school needs a counselor like her, and every girl should have a role model like her," her nominator said.
Mrs. Cox is an extraordinary woman, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. The Lynwood Unfied School is lucky to have her. So many young lives are going to benefit from her giving, selfless heart.
I agree wholeheartedly with the flyer that was placed in my mailbox and the announcement I heard over the PA system this morning. In addition to supporting students, Mrs. Cox is open and available to lend an ear to staff whenever the need arises.

I know Erica from when our daughters went to the same school. I quickly noticed her positive personality. I love when I see her she brings a smile to the conversation. I 100% support this nomination.
