Alejandra Linares Sierra was nominated anonymously.

Ms. Linares Sierra brings a deeply personal perspective to her classroom as a first-generation college graduate and lifelong English language learner. Her own educational journey has shaped her core belief: that every student deserves to learn in a space where they are supported academically and affirmed personally and culturally. She creates a positive and inclusive environment by centering empathy, patience, and culturally responsive teaching practices.

Ms. Linares Sierra is intentional about recognizing and uplifting the unique backgrounds and voices of her students, particularly those who, like her, may have once felt unseen or unsure of their place in the classroom. She understands firsthand the transformative impact of feeling safe enough to ask questions, express ideas, or take risks in a second language. That insight drives her to ensure each student sees their identity not as a barrier, but as a strength. Her approach includes the use of diverse texts, collaborative learning, and a classroom culture that views mistakes as opportunities for growth. By fostering community, trust, and engagement, she builds a space where all students, regardless of language background or life experience, feel empowered to learn, lead, and thrive.

Throughout the past six years, I have seen her go above and beyond both in her classroom and outside of it She is an advocate for all students, but especially for those who cannot advocate for themselves. She cares for everyone, including her family, friends extended family members, and she takes care of any animal that meets. She works tirelessly to make the world a better place.

I am honored to nominate Ms. Linares Sierra for her incredible patience, dedication, and impact in the classroom. Having 20+ kindergartners to look after & manage is a challenge on it’s own, but she handled it with grace, warmth, and a deep commitment to each child’s growth, including my daughters. My son wasn’t her student and her including him in the ABC boot camp she initiated helped him tremendously with reading. My daughter struggles with working independently and can be very talkative at times, but Ms. Linares was patient, never gave up on her. Instead, she nurtured her, gently redirected her when needed, and created a space where she felt seen, supported, and loved. That kind of patience and consistency doesn’t go unnoticed, it’s life-changing. It takes a special kind of person to balance structure with love, and does it daily. She doesn’t just teach, she teaches kindness, resilience, and confidence. I am forever grateful for her presence in my child’s learning journey. She deserves this recognition and so much more, just a beautiful soul inside and out. Thank you Ms. Linares Sierra.

Mrs. Linares is the kind of educator every parent wants for their child. She pours her heart and soul into her classroom without expecting anything in return. She spends countless hours preparing materials off the clock to make sure her students’ needs are met. She has impacted so many children and families throughout her career. Organizing fundraisers for friends in need and looking for sponsors for her classroom so her students have everything plus more. The amount of things this woman does for her students is amazing, she wrote letters to sponsors and has gotten hundreds of dollars donated to her classroom for Christmas presents. I almost forgot, she reached out to Bank of America and they chose to adopt families in her classroom for Christmas 2 years in a row. Her suv was full from her passenger seat to her trunk and SHE PERSONALLY DELIVERED ALL OF THE GIFTS to the families! She can do it all! She is an angel walking on earth! During her first year teacher she did such an amazing job that her district selected her as NEW EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR from hundreds of new teachers! I am proud to call Mrs. Linares my wife! She deserves to win! I can’t think of anyone more deserving! Goodluck babe! You got this!

She works tirelessly to make sure her students feel safe, loved, and inspired to learn. From hands-on lessons to fun, engaging activities, she is always finding new ways to make kindergarten a place her students will remember forever. I have had the privilege of calling Alejandra my friend since 7th grade, and over the years I have witnessed her journey—through both challenges and triumphs—into the extraordinary person and teacher she is today. Alejandra pours her heart and soul into her classroom, creating a safe and welcoming space where every student feels seen, valued, and deeply cared for. She has a remarkable gift for making each child feel special, instilling in them the confidence to believe in themselves. Her dedication goes far beyond academics—she works tirelessly, never giving up on a student, no matter the obstacles. Alejandra is constantly brainstorming new ways to reach each learner, adapt to their needs, and celebrate their unique strengths. She inspires her students not only to achieve academically, but also to take pride in who they are. Her compassion, creativity, and unwavering commitment make her a true light in her students’ lives and an inspiration to everyone who knows her. Teachers don’t dedicate themselves to this work for recognition or accolades—but if anyone would use this honor as a platform to further serve her community and students, it is Alejandra. She has consistently gone above and beyond for her class, her school, and her community—often in ways unseen, but always deeply felt. Award or not, her impact is lasting, and this recognition would only amplify the good she continues to do for those around her.
