Bernaldo Salvador was nominated anonymously.

As a Functional Life Skills teacher, Mr. Salvador focuses on creating a positive and supportive classroom environment by building trust, consistency, and emotional safety. He uses clear routines, visual supports, and AAC systems to help his non-verbal students communicate and feel included.

His classroom is fully accessible and sensory-friendly, with calm spaces, adaptive tools, and activities that meet each student’s unique needs. He collaborates closely with therapists, nurses, and families to ensure that every child receives consistent care and meaningful instruction.

Mr. Salvador also extends support by personally assisting students with mobility, including pushing wheelchairs from his classroom to different subject areas. Most importantly, he celebrates every small success and makes sure each student feels valued, respected, and part of the classroom community.
