Ms. Clayton fosters a positive classroom environment by teaching the whole student, not just the student in the classroom, but the individual navigating life beyond it. She uses real-world examples to make lessons relevant and meaningful, helping students connect their education to their everyday experiences. She encourages them to embrace life’s challenges, reminding them that while they can’t always control what happens, they can always learn and grow from it.

Ms. Clayton sees each student as a unique individual and takes the time to understand their strengths and qualities. She uses this knowledge to create a supportive, collaborative classroom where every student can thrive. A guiding principle in her classroom is, “Work hard to play hard.” At the beginning of the year, students may not fully grasp what this means, but by the end, they’ve experienced it firsthand. Through high expectations, encouragement, and consistent effort, Ms. Clayton helps her students achieve success while having fun along the way.

She believes in celebrating small victories, knowing they build the foundation for greater success. In every interaction, Ms. Clayton demonstrates her commitment to helping students grow academically, emotionally, and personally.
