Ms. Strehl is a dedicated educator who creates a positive classroom environment by promoting open communication, student choice, and reflective learning. She encourages her students to express themselves, pursue their passions, and self-advocate for their needs, helping them grow not only academically, but also in confidence and self-awareness.
When she joined Las Vegas Academy, Ms. Strehl was tasked with launching a new CTE (career and technical education) course, Multimedia Communications, as part of the Media Arts and Communications major. Despite her 20+ years as an English teacher, she returned to graduate school to earn a master’s degree in Media and Communications to better serve her students. Each year, she continues to strengthen the program. Her current goal is to offer Adobe Certification in Photoshop, PremierePro, or InDesign to 2nd and 3rd-year students, an opportunity that would align with their career goals and enhance their skillsets.
Ms. Strehl is National Board Certified in Language Arts and a current candidate for CTE certification. Under her leadership, the multimedia program has received several accolades, including recognition from the local newspaper for Best School News Site in the district.
