Kendra Shoemaker was nominated anonymously.

Ms. Shoemaker believes every student is uniquely different. To create a positive environment, she ensures that all students feel welcome and secure within her classroom. She spends the first few weeks of school learning about each student. She thinks about what makes each student unique and how they can help create a positive community within the classroom.

Ms. Shoemaker has been the grade level lead for about five years. She is a site lead for the afterschool program that services 250 students. She is considered a teacher-leader and has completed the LIONS leadership program. She has also completed/run many district-wide trainings.
