Mr. Christman creates a welcoming, supportive, and well-structured classroom where students feel cared for and prepared every day. He greets each student with kindness and sincerity, sets up air cleaners and humidifiers to maintain a healthy, comfortable environment, and ensures his lessons are thoroughly organized and thoughtfully planned. Each week, he provides students with detailed pacing guides outlining lesson titles, essential questions, objectives, and expectations, giving them a clear view of what's ahead and allowing them to come to class mentally prepared. His classroom is cleaned daily, and he leads discussions with a group-oriented mindset to reduce anxiety and foster open communication.
Mr. Christman keeps essential resources like paper, pencils, Chromebooks, and dictionaries readily available so all students have what they need to succeed. He encourages respectful dialogue, supports students in expressing their ideas, and promotes a classroom culture where everyone lifts each other, especially when facing challenges. Mr. Christman also makes himself available throughout the school day, offering consistent support and guidance. Some of his most urgent classroom needs include more paper (to print materials in larger, more accessible formats), toner for his printer (for guided notes and learning resources), and an extensive political world map to pair with his current continental map for comparative lessons.
Mr. Christman serves as Social Studies department chair, is a state championship-winning powerlifting coach, and was named Assistant Football Coach of the Year. He's been inducted into four honor societies and graduated Magna Cum Laude, reflecting his dedication to both academic and professional excellence.
