Jason Palmira was nominated anonymously.

Mr. Palmira treats all students equally and shows that ALL students can do the same things in his class, not just some of them. Mr. Palmira teaches middle school robotics. Engineering/STEM is usually thought of as a male-dominated field, but he promotes equality in his classroom and has worked hard to make everyone feel welcome and increase involvement. Mr. Palmira created the robotics program at the school, and it recently finished its fifth year. The robotics team has gone to the VEX World Championships ever year for the past four years, competing against 800 teams from 50+ countries around the world. He is also helping the school earn its STEAM designation from the state of Nevada and has worked to obtain a $20,000 grant from the state to train teachers.
