I truly believe Courtney deserves to be named LifeChanger of the Year. She works at a Title 1 school, and every day she pours her heart into creating a safe, welcoming, and joyful classroom environment for her students. She goes above and beyond to make sure every child feels seen, valued, and supported academically and emotionally. Her classroom is more than a place to learn. It’s a place where kids want to be. She spends countless hours decorating and organizing her room so it feels warm and inviting, and she often uses her own money to provide supplies and materials her students need. She constantly comes up with fun, engaging activities that not only help her students learn but also make them excited to come to school. Some of her students don’t even want to go home at the end of the day! That’s how much they love being in her class. Her passion, creativity, and dedication are truly inspiring, and she represents everything a great teacher should be.

As courtney’s mom I’m so proud of her. I believe Courtney should win this award for many reasons. She not only teaches all day and 3 days a week and Saturday she volunteers her time to teach students robotics. Courtney also serves on the sunshine committee as well as serving as a member of the SOT program and if that plate is not full enough she also is in school working on her doctorate which she will have in less then a year. Oh did I mention she is only 33 and I know she has many more years to give to her students. Everyone nominated for this award is so deserving of it but I really feel in my heart she is one of a kind and we as a community need more of her.

I have known Courtney since she was 9 and in my fourth grade class. To see her succeed as an educator is no surprise! I know that she stepped away from a career that could have brought more money, but followed her heart to make a difference.

Courtney is always putting her students and their families first. She works tirelessly and selflessly to make sure her students have what they need and the support to be successful. Courtney works hard every year to build and maintain relationships with her student and their families. She goes above and beyond for each of her kiddos, and makes sure to include their families in their educational journeys! Courtney is always working on her career skills, either by working on CUs, taking courses, watching videos, and she never stops learning and growing when it comes to teaching. She loves her job and teaching is what she is meant to do! She changes lives every day by being herself, showing up, and being a wonderful teacher and role model for her students. On top of that, she is currently working on her doctorate degree in education, showing her present and future commitment to the field of education! I strive to be a fantastic teacher like Courtney, but more so to be a great person like Courtney Cefaratti aka Mrs. C!
