Throughout my years, I have been honored to witness Jerral not only give his all to his students but also to his campus and school in general. He is a well-learned teacher who not only imparts a great deal of knowledge but also serves and teaches with a servant's heart, thus impacting everyone around him throughout his 18 years of teaching," said the nominator.

Proven Capacity to Add Positive Value to the Lives of Students

Mr. Williams was very successful in business, but on his own initiative, he transitioned into the education sector, as he felt a strong urge to give back to the community that had supported him. He teaches eighth-grade science. He makes the learning process so engaging and interesting that students cannot help but become wildly curious and confident. In addition to academic work, Mr. Williams serves as a mentor, especially to young men, providing encouragement, consistency, and accountability. His talent to speak to students regardless of their backgrounds is a gift that saves people.

Development of a Positive School Environment

Mr. Williams does not just stop at his classroom. His very presence contributes to the establishment of an inclusive, supportive, and student-centered school culture. He has held various positions that support school spirit and community, including Chess Club sponsor, Student Council sponsor, and Science Fair liaison. He also plays an active role on campus, serving as part of the PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) Committee, the Attendance Committee, and the Wellness Committee, where he mentors the young men in the group.

Mr. Williams is a born leader. Throughout his time at school, he has served as the eighth-grade team leader for several years, leading his team to uphold the same standards of professionalism, with clarity and heart. Most of his leadership is focused on instructional practices and campus culture. He has also served as a former football, basketball, and track coach for approximately 15 years, during which he influenced student-athletes through morals and training. He has earned a reputation that carries significant weight in the job, as demonstrated by his award as Campus Teacher of the Year.

Mr. Williams is a teacher who regularly delivers engaging lessons in his science classroom. His lessons are engaging, properly structured, and aligned with the best practices. He is demanding of his students, but he helps them meet their goals. He is silent yet professional, and both character traits have earned him a seat of trust among his colleagues and a strong voice on his campus.
