Her unwavering commitment to her students has earned her multiple accolades, including being named "Teacher of the Year" at Love Grove and featured as First Coast News's "Teacher of the Week."
Beyond the classroom, Mrs. Villar has launched initiatives that empower students and build a sense of community. One standout program is the "snack cart," where students with intellectual disabilities learn valuable life skills by selling snacks to staff and peers. This initiative showcased student growth and entrepreneurship, and Mrs. Villar earned a grant from the Jacksonville Public Education Fund to expand her efforts. She also founded a vibrant garden club, giving students opportunities to explore nature, develop responsibility, and practice teamwork. These hands-on experiences reinforce classroom learning while fostering confidence, independence, and a sense of joy.
