Music that Describes Baily

Baily Gula was nominated by Sandie Rudisill, her colleague.

Ms. Gula is a determined, motivated, and visionary educator who has championed arts education for sixteen years as an elementary art teacher in Gaston County Schools. Her passion reaches far beyond her classroom. She is a dynamic leader, mentor, and advocate who uplifts both students and fellow educators.

"I first met Baily through TIPS, our beginning teacher support program, where she led a professional development session for new educators. Her warmth, expertise, and commitment to helping others were immediately evident. Today, she continues to lead monthly professional development for art and music teachers across the district, supporting them with innovative strategies and helping integrate math and reading into the arts to boost student achievement," said Rudisill.

Ms. Gula believes art is more than a subject; it's a tool for healing, focus, behavior support, and self-expression. Her classroom is a safe space where creativity blooms and students are encouraged to take risks, grow, and share their stories. She fosters confidence in young artists by guiding them through competitions and community displays, providing them with platforms to showcase their talents and take pride in their accomplishments.

"Her dedication to arts education is both inspiring and impactful. Whether she's leading a workshop, planning a cross-curricular lesson, or cheering on a child's artistic breakthrough, Baily is a true LifeChanger," said Rudisill.
