Music that Describes Shane

Shane Morgan was nominated by his spouse, Heaven Morgan.

"Shane Morgan is, without a doubt, a LifeChanger at New Miami and so much more. A proud alumnus of the school himself, Shane returned to where it all began to teach kindergarten for eight years, creating a classroom environment rooted in love, safety, and a sense of belonging. Some parents were initially unsure about having a male kindergarten teacher, but by the end of the year, every single one was grateful that their child had Mr. Morgan," said Mrs. Morgan.

"Over those eight years, Shane didn't just grow as an educator, he grew as a husband, a father to three daughters, and a role model for the kind of compassion, humor, and presence that shapes a generation. Whether it's through dad jokes, intentional one-on-one time, or meaningful conversations, he's showing his daughters the kind of person they deserve to look up to. Every day after school, he came home speaking positively about his students, even when the day had its challenges. His classroom was more than academic; it was a place for 'family meetings,' trust-building, and life lessons. His uplifting attitude helped students feel safe to take risks, be creative, and believe in themselves," said Mrs. Morgan.

Mr. Morgan's impact extended beyond the classroom when he assumed leadership roles within the school and district. Last year, he transitioned to teaching second grade and was overjoyed to be reunited with some of his former students. However, when his school's literacy coach faced health issues, Mr. Morgan stepped into a new coaching role—supporting not only students but also his fellow educators. Through encouragement and thoughtful guidance, he helped colleagues reconnect with their purpose and focus on the whole child.

This year, he's returning to school to earn his master's degree in counseling, to serve students across the district. Meanwhile, he mentors student leaders in the National Junior Honor Society, supports the girls' varsity basketball team, and continues his leadership work.

"Shane's dedication is unmatched. From spending his own money on class prizes and supplies to personally delivering Valentines to a student who missed the party, he shows up in the small and mighty ways that matter most. And he does it all with joy, humility, and a growth mindset. Ask any child in that elementary building about Mr. Morgan, and their face will light up with a smile. That's the kind of legacy Shane is building, one student, one classroom, one heart at a time," said Mrs. Morgan.
