Tracy Ghettie was nominated by Donna Pirrotta, the grandparent of several students.
"I am honored to nominate Tracy Ghettie, the exceptional principal of Royal Palm Beach Elementary School, for the LifeChanger of the Year award. I have known Ms. Ghettie since 2010, when several of my grandchildren attended Royal Palm Beach Elementary. In 2014, our family experienced an unimaginable loss—my daughter passed away suddenly, leaving behind her twin boys and a daughter, just seven and ten years old at the time. In those heartbreaking moments, Tracy's compassion shone brightly. She was there for my grandchildren, supporting them emotionally whenever they became upset in class. Her kindness and care made a lasting impact on our family—something I will never forget," said Pirrotta.
"In August 2024, my youngest grandchildren returned to Royal Palm Beach Elementary to begin fifth grade after attending another school in Wellington. My granddaughter had struggled there, both socially and academically. Though we were not zoned for Royal Palm Beach Elementary, I contacted Tracy, who informed me about open enrollment. Thanks to her guidance, the children were accepted. Since then, my granddaughter's transformation has been incredible. She now looks forward to going to school—something she has never experienced before. The teachers have been truly remarkable, going above and beyond to support her academically. She's been working with a counselor, and her behavior, confidence, and overall well-being have improved immensely. The ESE team has been phenomenal in addressing her needs and helping her make real progress," said Pirrotta.
"What sets Tracy apart is her hands-on leadership style. She is approachable, always smiling, and incredibly supportive of students and staff. She maintains a positive, professional presence while being firm and fair when necessary. She actively participates in school events—from chorus and drama productions to clubs and extracurricular activities. Communication with parents is always clear, with helpful reminders sent through texts and emails. It's an excellent system that makes families feel informed and included," said Pirrotta.
"Tracy Ghettie exemplifies what it means to be an outstanding principal. Her dedication, warmth, and expertise make Royal Palm Beach Elementary a place of learning and a joyful and nurturing environment for every child. The Palm Beach County School District is truly fortunate to have her leadership. In closing, Tracy lives and breathes her motto that Royal Palm Beach Elementary is 'The Happiest Place on Earth'—and through her, it truly is," said Pirrotta.
