Mr. Tomes is a superb teacher and a wonderful human being. He cares about his students and meets them where they are. His enthusiasm for reading carries over to his students, and the love and acceptance he shows each student encourages participation within the classroom. He knows his students. No matter what is going on around them, students feel comfortable enough to let down their guard in his class. He has a welcoming and outgoing personality that allows every student to feel successful and cared for while in his presence. His knowledge of English and literature makes learning fun. His students adore him, and so do his colleagues.
