Christina Plasil was nominated by an anonymous student.
"It all started when I transferred from a larger school in Wisconsin. I was a freshman at Kettle Moraine High School. I didn't know many people; I only knew that my mom had taught at this high school four years ago. She was a culinary teacher, and she loved Kettle Moraine. This is how I met Mrs. Plasil, through the other culinary teacher I was introduced to through my mom when we first came into the school. I was introduced when I first walked into OG's room (the other culinary teacher). I got a warm welcome from Mrs. Plasil. We talked about what my other school was like and how this school year has been going so far," said the student.
"A few weeks pass in the first month of school. I continued to go to Mrs. Plasil's advisory to get work done peacefully. I would bring a couple of friends, and she was always super welcoming to them. While we were all in her advisory class, she brought up Best Buddies. I had heard of it from some friends before but was never interested. But when I heard that Mrs Plasil was one of the leaders of Best Buddies, I knew I had to try it out. I attended the Best Buddies Officer meetings because she thought I would be a great fit," said the student.
'Mrs. Plasil has made an incredible difference by introducing me to Best Buddies. Her kindness and encouragement gave me the confidence to step into something new, and I'm so grateful for that. She welcomed me with open arms and helped me find a place where I truly belong. Being part of Best Buddies has brought so much joy, friendship, and connection; I wouldn't have joined without her. Her support means the world to me, and I appreciate everything she's done to make my transition to Kettle Moraine so positive," said the student.
