Elizabeth Jorgensen was nominated by a student.

"At the beginning of freshman year at KM Global, I was a bit overwhelmed and nervous but also excited. On my first day of leadership class, I remember Ms. Jorgensen sitting by me and another classmate and began talking to us. We were writing about what we think leadership means, and she asked me some questions to get more ideas. I remember her taking many notes since she was super new to the school. I later learned she would be my English teacher," said the student.

"When semester two rolled around, I began having English twice a week. I like English because Ms. Jorgensen opened me to new writing skills and techniques. And, thanks to her, I am a published author and have won an essay competition with a $100 prize. In addition to having her in English and Leadership, I also had her for Inquiry classes. During Inquiry, she pushes me. This class can get challenging and sometimes overwhelming. But she gives me helpful feedback, making fixing my mistakes and errors much easier," said the student.

"In my school, we do semester-long research projects culminating in essays called Central Concepts (CCs). On one of my CCs, she gave me so many comments. At first, I was overwhelmed and put off addressing them, but after reading her comments, I realized they were helpful and taught me a lot. Now, all of her feedback has helped me do a better job and become a better writer. Overall, Ms. J is a very nice person, and I look forward to the rest of my high school English career. I want to thank Ms. Jorgensen for all she has done for me; it means a lot. I look forward to our time together and can't wait to see what the future holds for me as a writer," said the student. "Thanks again, Ms. J!"
