Molly Duncan, also known as "Nurse Molly," was nominated by her colleague, Christina Haithcock.
Being a school nurse at a middle school is not only busy, but mentally taxing. Nurse Molly handles each situation was grace and compassion, from a small scratch needing a band-aid to any emergency. She saw a child come in with dirty clothes, unable to shower at home, and being bullied. After Nurse Molly took care of them, the student not only learned proper hygiene, but had a wonderful year and is no longer being bullied. Every morning, Nurse Molly went to work early to ensure the student showered and had clean clothes, even gifting outfits and hygiene products they could take home.
"The heart of a school nurse is definitely something that can not be learned, but is felt. Nurse Molly has the heart and compassion to love all students and ensure their school days are not determined by their socioeconomic status. She is an exceptional human and so deserving," said Haithcock.
