Ms. Mallory is a life changer indeed. It is my great pleasure to congratulate her on being nominated for such an outstanding award. Ms. Mallory is dedicated and motivated to the children of Detroit Public Schools. She is exceptional in her task of promoting students to reach higher educational goals. As the president of the Wilberforce Alumni Chapter, she recruits daily for her alma mater. She molds students to be college ready and inspires them to do what is necessary to succeed in todays world. As an educator, Ms. Mallory has taken the time to assist me into developing into an administrator. She has taken the time out of her busy schedule to mentor and train me. I will be forever great full. Congratulations, you deserve this nomination!
Ms. Mallory is an excellent nominee for this prestigious recognition. She is an enthusiastic and committed educator. As the president of the Detroit Alumni Chapter of Wilberforce University, an Historically Black University in Wilberforce, Ohio, she is responsible for mentoring and recruiting over 50 students to the university. Charlene's commitment to her students, staff, and parents resulted in her being awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Education at Wilberforce University. She is uniquely qualified to be honored as a "Life Changer," as she has positively influenced and changed the lives of so many.
Principal Mallory is a trailblazing leader who sees a world of possibility for East English Village Preparatory Academy. I will be working as a Dream Director in her school for the second year during the fall. I am humbled and honored by the way she has allowed for student programming that tackle issues around mental health wellness and anti-violence. She encourages opportunities for students to go on culture exposure field trips beyond the school neighborhood, and even the state. Students have gone on college visits with the Robotics team; have visited the new, prestigious National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, DC; and received master classes in the Arts by Broadway trained actors for the 'Young Artists Workshop' hosted by the Helping Hands Campaign and the National Tour of the Lion King. She creates space in her school for unique experiences while also meeting administrative demands that only a dedicated principal could.
I am so, so pleased to nominate Principal Mallory for the Lifechanger of the Year award. Her sacrifice and contribution deserves to be acknowledged.
Charlene Mallory is a gifted educator with a sincere regard for all humanity. Having been placed within a school environment that held a changing population due to the consolidation of two schools and the closing of another for some would been a difficult task. However Charlene Mallory has continued to remain steadfast in the insistence of student improvement and instructional accountability. Her innate nurturing demeanor has been a source of innovation and commitment. Truly a great person, educator and administrators, Kudos to Charlene Mallory for being a superb principal

Ms. Mallory, was been the Detroit Chapter president of the Wilberforce University, the oldest privately owned HBCU. She was able to use her position as a high school principal to steer over 50 students into the Wilberforce U. who may otherwise not have an opportunity to attend college. She is dedicated to her students and mentors staff to expect the best and work toward excellence with the students. She works with members of the sorority also striving to have young people in the Detroit, Michigan community thrive. She is a wonderful woman who keeps God first in her life. I highly recommend that she be honored. Donna M. Jones, Ed.D.

Ms. Mallory is a dedicated and hard working young lady. She has love, understanding, and admiration for her school kids. Congratulations on being nominated for the 2017-2018 LifeChanger of the Year award. You are a phenomenal principal and person.
It is evident, principals wear numerous hats, as they oversee various components of the school. In the case of Ms. Mallory, her daily routine consist of interacting with students, meeting parents, communicating with community organizations and making sure the school remains in compliance with legal responsibilities. Beyond the daily responsibilities Ms. Mallory has a passion in assisting students become career-college ready. She is mindful that so many students exit high school and are clueless abut their next step. With that being said, many people are not aware of her selflessness as she takes a bus load of student on a weekend college tour to HBCU's in which she has made connections. While there not only do the students become aware of what the facility offers and even become recipients of scholarships. As for me, that is life changing.
Ms. Mallory is the best principal I have ever worked under! She is ultra-supportive, kind, understanding, and compassionate. Ms. Mallory works long hours in preparation for all school activities and events. She has been a superb administrator for me and for all the staff. I especially like her humor and she makes me laugh whenever I am in her office "pestering" her with questions. She is always "on top of her game" and I consider her a great leader. She knows all her students and staff. She has a discerning eye for everyone and everything. I am very happy she has me on her staff.
Charlene is an exemplary leader and a strong asset to the Detroit education system.. Your work over the years and what you have done for young people is truly inspiring. Good luck to you. Congratulations on your nomination
I met Ms. Mallory for the first time 5 years ago, as she introduced herself to the staff as the new Principal. Her warmth and humor put me immediately at ease. I admire Ms. Mallory for her fierce determination and never fading courage. She has an innovative vision for a school that challenges her on every level imaginable. Being a leader of the largest urban high school on the lower Eastside of Detroit takes academic, emotional, and spiritual stamina. Her work hours are never yielding, but she is there bright and early everyday ready to face whatever challenges the day brings. There isn't a word large enough to describe how I feel about Ms. Mallory...Admiration, spunk, curiosity, gut determination, humorous are just a few. Ms. Mallory is making a hugh difference in the lives of students and their families who are too often marginalized by educational systems. She has turned our school into an oasis where it once was a vast desert. It is my pleasure and honor to give my support to Ms. Mallory who is more than deserving of this award.
I have known Ms. Mallory for a very long time. She worked at my high school and then worked at the college I attended which is also our alma mater. She has always gone out of her way to assist others putting herself second. She's the epitome of a life changer as she is still going above and beyond in our Alumni Chapter. Ms. Mallory is someone who had and is still changing my life.
Ms. Mallory has been a great inspiration to me. She has shown me what it means to be passionate, dedicated, persevering, and focused all while having a spirit of compassion. It has been a pleasure and honor to know and work with her. Her leadership demonstrates a clear vision for the present and future. Most of all she always puts students first and shows her love for young people.
Charlene Mallory is an exceptional educator. She leads by example and continuously displays care and support for her students. Ms. Mallory offers opportunities for her students to showcase their talents in and outside the classroom. These opportunities are meant to ensure that the students at East English Village are prepared for college and careers after high school. Ms. Mallory's expectations for everyone is that they give their best. She provides what's needed so that they can indeed give their best. If they fall, she is there to help them get up and if they succeed she is there to cheer them on. Ms. Mallory has been a light for her students that never grows dim. Her hard work and commitment to students has been what is needed for the students at East English Village.

I am grateful for her FAITHFUL dedication to education. She is indeed a Life Changer and I am proud to say that know her. She deserves this award and many, many others! Thank you for all that you do and have done, Ms. Mallory!
Ms. Mallory this nomination is what you call a personality check, I am very thankful for all you have done in mentoring me since I met you in 2011. You have been by my side not only in high school, but also in college, all four years, knowing I didn't have much support in my corner. I am so happy that you're being recognized for all the great work that you do to get kids like me In college. I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for you. You not only kept me focused with my academics, but also in general such as life skills, becoming a leader then actually being a leader, human ethics, logic's, treating women right, etc. I proudly say I have been mentored by one of the best LIFECHANGERS ever. You have helped me walk across the stage in addition giving me courage to share my knowledge with others. You strongly expressed my need to share what I know and learned with others like you did and I will not let you down. I really hope that you will this award but I think being nominated is just as good, you're definitely a winner in my heart.
Congratulations on your nomination. Your work over the years and what you have done for young people is truly inspiring. Good luck to you.
I have had the opportunity to work with Principal Mallory in a support services capacity for the past 8 years and I can attest firsthand to her impact as a School Leader. She works tirelessly to ensure her students AND staff are well equipped and have the best resources and opportunities available to them. She is definitely an asset to this District and the definite spark that her school needs.
Ms. Mallory perpetually motivates her students and staff to "unwrap and enjoy the many gifts of opportunities that the world has to offer", and I am immensely excited about her nomination for the "LifeChanger Award".
