Kimberly Jackson was nominated by a parent of a student, Aylin Khalafyan.
"As a mother, it is important for me to make sure my child feels comfortable attending school and isn't afraid to communicate with the teacher. I think one life can influence another with their gestures, body language, or how they communicate in general. They can make the student's day impactful and motivate them to study and enjoy school," said Khalafyan. "Ms. Jackson has acknowledged the change that needed to be made for better communication with her students. She created a classroom atmosphere that her students enjoy, one that fosters a love of learning. Because of Ms. Jackson's work, her students remember to smile and enjoy the time creating seventh-grade memories together."
"To sum it up, Ms. Jackson was a victim of the fires of California. She still showed up and continued to teach her students. Her top priority was being strong for children who were counting on her, and that is a character trait that not many have," said Khalafyan.
