Music that Describes Felicia

Felicia Rhodes was nominated by a friend, Regina Cazzarin.

Ms. Rhodes is an exceptional individual whose commitment to serving others extends beyond the classroom. She is more than just a teacher to her students—she is a lifeline. She ensures every student has what they need to succeed: knowledge, food when hungry, school supplies when families can't afford them, or even toiletries delivered directly to students' homes. Her compassion and sense of responsibility toward her students are unmatched.

Professionally, Ms. Rhodes wears many hats. She not only teaches in the classroom but also trains and certifies paramedics. Ms. Rhodes is a certified paramedic and serves as a church pastor. Her ministry extends to the local homeless community. She founded Greater Good of East Tennessee, a nonprofit that travels to underserved areas to provide free toiletries and household essentials.

Her service doesn't stop there. Ms. Rhodes is known for stepping in wherever she is needed—providing supplies to members of her congregation, helping repair things in their homes, or traveling an hour away to care for her elderly mother. She routinely cuts wood for her mother's heat, mows her lawn weekly, and ensures she has everything she needs.

Despite her many responsibilities, Ms. Rhodes remains deeply dedicated to her students. She spends evenings preparing lessons, communicating with parents, continuing her education, and mentoring future ministers. Ms. Rhodes is a trusted confidant to her students and provides feminine care products to those who need them, creating a space of trust, openness, and respect. Every student matters deeply to her, and she consistently goes above and beyond to ensure their success—academically, emotionally, and personally.

Her influence reaches far and wide. She changes not only the lives of her students but also those of her paramedic and CPR students, her church congregation, and countless individuals in need across her community. A powerful testament to her impact came during a dinner when a former student approached her with heartfelt gratitude. The student credited Ms. Rhodes for helping her become a successful paramedic, calling her the best teacher she ever had.

"Felicia exemplifies what it means to be a LifeChanger. In a world where dedication and selflessness can be hard to find, Felicia shines as a beacon of hope, service, and unwavering commitment to bettering the lives of others. It's an honor to call her a friend, and I believe she makes the world better," said Cazzarin.

So many things I can say about Felicia. When we worked together at Medic regional blood center she worked long hours and always willing to help out anyway she could. When she left work she would go and tech phlebotomy school two days a week, the days she was not teaching phlebotomy class she would go help her mom she would cut wood or mow her mom’s grass Other days she would go and feed the homeless. Also leading her church and on the weekends she would go out into the community and help with the less fortunate people . Let’s not forget she would work sometimes on the ambulance service and when a group of people need certification for CPR she will teach them. Felicia Rhodes is a true friend and superwoman for sure!!!!

I am the original one who nominated Felicia for this award. At the time of nomination, I had so idea about how much one human could impact my life. I find myself grateful for every lesson from the Lord, good, bad, & different. When I first nominated her, I was still learning so much. Her character traits and leadership characteristics far exceed those of her work colleagues. She is courageous wise, and takes an extra mile to help her students, congregation to make things interesting and engaging. She always has time to stop and answer every question, get someone a meal, clothes, toiletry items, and not to mention the way she always takes the time to council those in need without any of them feeling like a burden. She is by far the hardest working teacher, pastor, friend, sister, daughter, and is the most amazing individual I have ever met. I pray she wins this to show folks good things do come to those who work hard and wait upon the Lord! Thank you for your time and attention. Sincerely Regina Cazzarin

I met Mrs. Rhodes at the church she pastors. And she has changed my life in the short time I have had the privilege to know her. She has helped me with my angry and put it into prospective of what really is needed to be calmer and not just saying to relax. She talks to me and my wife with such love an caring! She never stops going to help others. I only hear her talk about what others need. This woman is truly a christ like persona a I am honored to know her and have her in my life! When she looks at you or talks to you she reads your emotions and can tell what your are going through without even saying a word! She is the most selfless person I have ever met and she is just so wonderful! She has helped me with my walk in faith with Christ and I have never been at peace more in my life then I am right now! And I have her to that for that!

I call Felicia Rhodes Pastor. She is the most genuine and caring person that I know. She has changed not only my life but my family's life as well. I can call her in the middle of the night and she answers. I can ask her to come over and she does. She has been at our house until midnight trying to help us. I know that she always has us! She is a true God fearing woman and she does so much for her community and everyone who knows her! She truly loves to help others and she does it with a genuine heart. She works so hard to show God's love and light to anyone she comes across. She works hard for God, her students, her family, her church congregation, and she always puts her own problems aside to be there for everyone else. She is selfless, kind, caring, loving, compassionate, and most of all she is honest. I can personally say that she inspires me and teaches me to show the world more kindness than it has shown me. Ultimately she is more than deserving of this award and I can say she has definitely changed many many lives including mine!

Best and hardest working person I have ever known. She’s a blessing to anyone that she has ever known. She’s a leader and true friend.

Brenda Sharp Posted 11 months ago

I could just write so much about her. She is one of the hardest working people she is a great person and friend . She is a great teacher and leader works long hours and still has time for her community helping with the homeless and her church. If you have the pleasure working with her like I did then you know things are going to be done and done right. Also for the young people that have her to teach them then when they get ready for the adult life then you will know they are ready because of her!!!!!

I have known Felicia for about 10 years. In those 10 years, She has been helping others. Whether it be helping tutor students or offering to help people move. She helps with hygiene items for those in need. She always has time to listen to other to give them guidance and counseling. She sacrifices a lot for others and it would be great for her to be recognized for that. I can’t think of anyone else that is more deserving than her.

I knew the first time I met Felicia that she had a heart for people. I could start with many examples but I will tell about the time the tornados hit Chattanooga on Easter Sunday. The storms hit our complex some people lost everything. Felicia and the Greater Good of East Tennessee group filled the bus and came to Chattanooga to help the needs of every man, woman and child in our community that needed anything. Alot of people was suprised and blessed that day.. that is the work that Felicia does.

When I think about Felicia, I think if the quote "Our time on earth will soon be past, only what's done for Christ will last". Felicia demonstrates this in every aspect of her daily life. whether it be teaching, supporting her community in volunteer activities, Pastoring a church, helping strangers etc. She is selfless and loving to everyone she meets. she also holds a high standard for herself. From the moment I met her I knew I loved her Spirit and willingness to make others feel loved and accepted. I know of no one more deserving of this award.

Pastor Felicia has made a big difference in my life over the years. As my pastor is a very compassionate and caring person. Her love for my soul as well as others gets her everyday to witness for God and to try and bring the lost souls to Jesus. Nothing delights her more than to see people come to Him and grow in the Holy Spirit. She also has such love and compassion for others she goes the extra mile to help someone in need without hesitation. Felicia is a true servant of God and serves Him by serving others!

From the 1st time I meet Felicia I know there was something special about her. She has such a willingness to give of her self daily to make sure everyone else is taking care of and has their needs meet in all aspects. She has definitely changed so many lives. I personally want to thank her for being an awesome person, teacher, Pastor, and friend.

This just scratches the surface of how much Pastor Felicia Rhodes changes people's life on a regular. Personally, I had lost my Brother and Mother in the same year. My health is poor as I have Lupus, Renal Failure, heart failure, and many more things going on. After being hospitalized over my heart, Pastor Felicia asked me if I wanted to come and live at her home so I will have someone around me every day. She is by far the perfect example of God's love in action, and her character and work ethic are impeccable. It is an honor to know her, serve beside her as a sister in Christ, and call her my friend, my family, my mentor, my wise counsel, and my Pastor. I pray she wins this because I honestly don't know a more deserving person.

Felicia possesses the rare quality of accepting totally all persons she meets. Her background as a minister, paramedic, and teacher ensure her wide swath of personal compassion, extended education, and successful treatment of others with physical, educational, emotional, and/or spiritual needs.

I have known Felicia for over a decade. This woman has a heart of gold and is always looking to help others. She is the real life Tennessee superwoman. She wears so many hats but they all have one thing in common…. Helping those who need it. She is a wonderful asset to the Knoxville community and her school is incredibly lucky to have someone as caring as her. She genuinely cares about the lives she has an impact on. We are very blessed to have Felicia in our lives. She will continue to strive and do more and more amazing things each and every day. That’s just who she is. “How can I help?” Is something embedded in her mind and she takes action and gets it done!
