Cassie King was nominated by a colleague, Jonathan Robertson.

Ms. King has dedicated her life to engaging and teaching others. For 18 years, she served as an elementary teacher for Campbell County Public Schools in Virginia. For a few years, she has studied and trained to step into a different teaching role as a Culinary Arts Instructor at Campbell County Technical Center.

"I know Cassie from working with her at Campbell County Technical Center. Cassie personally mentored me as I became a teacher two years ago after my life in the construction field," said Robertson.

Ms. King is a fun-loving, firm instructor who isn't afraid to coordinate her jewelry and clothes, just like Mrs. Frizzle, especially for a special event or lesson. Her experience as a teacher, boldness in widening the scope of her courses' reach, and adventurous boundary-pushing have bettered her students' experiences and challenged the rest of the teachers to pursue the same. She and her students have catered untold meetings for school administration, teacher trainings, and other events outside her classroom's doors, which didn't happen before her arrival. She even participated in a local play for the first time this semester, again challenging herself to work and play hard!

"It is time to recognize an excellent teacher who has dedicated so much to the youth of our area," said Robertson.
