LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Maria Gaona was nominated by an anonymous colleague.

Mrs. Gaona is a LifeChanger in her community! She is one of the most organized teachers, and her planning is unmatched. Her classroom is the model for how every teacher should model their rooms. Mrs. Gaona has great classroom management, and she provides her students with the best possible learining environment that is conducive to learning.  Her geometry students traditionally rank extremely high, and she is one of the major reasons students from Garfield High School have great math scores on the California Standardized Tests.

Mrs. Gaona is not only an excellent educator, but someone who prepares students for life. When students leave her class, they go with the knowledge that they can compete with anyone from anywhere and do well. She is a leader among her students and amongst her peers.
