Sarah Lanning was nominated by a past student, Wong Vang.

During Vang's formative high school years, Ms. Lanning provided a supportive and enriching learning environment for him and many other students. She consistently went above and beyond to ensure each student received personalized instruction tailored to their needs, fostering their academic growth and preparing them for future success. Despite the challenges some students, including Vang, occasionally presented, Ms. Lanning remained remarkably patient and dedicated to ensuring no one was left behind. She generously extended her time beyond regular school hours to provide additional support and guidance. Ms. Lanning consistently displayed a positive attitude, treating all students with respect and genuine care, much like her own children. 

Even after Vang's graduation, she demonstrated her continued commitment to her students' well-being by inviting alumni, including him, to speak to her current classes about post-secondary life. While he could not participate at that time, this gesture exemplified her enduring passion for her students and profession.
