Jennifer Rice was nominated by her colleague, Michelle LeBatard.
Ms. Rice is a driven educator. She is not only there for her students - she’s there for her colleagues and her community. She is always thinking about her students and what she can do to make their life better, and their education more successful.
Ms. Rice is helpful to her colleagues. She is always willing to lend a hand and give positive feedback. She bends over backwards for her students, parents, and her fellow teachers that she works with.
When she’s not in the classroom, Ms. Rice is thinking about ways to make her classroom better. She stays late, comes in early, and is dedicated to her job of educating our future. She is a team player who is always willing to give her time to mentor and to help others. Ms. Rice spends afternoons talking to parents and helping them understand and further educate their children.
"Jennifer is a win-win for Jackson county schools. We are blessed to have her as a teacher," said LeBatard. "This is her 23rd year in education, and it’s definitely her calling. Anyone that knows her, loves her. Vancleave Lower is a better place because of her dedication and great positive attitude."
Jennifer is such a sweet and compassionate teacher. Her love for her students and her profession is palpable. I have no doubt she is changing the lives of her students for the better every day!
I have had the opportunity to spend time in Jennifer Rice’s classroom. She not only gets through to her students, but she “gets them.”
I remember the first day she came to teach at VLE.Her classroom was across the hall from mine.Jennifer brought such enthusiasm and joy to our school and still does.She is an asset to VLE.

Jennifer has been an amazing blessing to our family for the last four years. She is the caregiver to my 9 year old special needs son, Levi and to my 3 month old, Jase. She loves my boys, including my 16 year old Blaine, as if they were her own. The love she has for her job and children in the community is second to none!
Ms. Rice is my daughter’s Kindergarten teacher and we love her! My daughter comes home and speaks so highly of Ms. Rice and has had the best Kindergarten experience so far with the best teacher!

I was Jennifer’s assistant teacher for 4 years. She is a wonderful teacher. She is very dedicated to her school and her children. She makes the children feel special and makes her assistant feel appreciated. I am indebted to her for making my last years before retirement memorable!

Jennifer Rice, compassionate, giving, and a Great Teacher. I have had several young family members in her class, so I have first hand experience on what she can do with children in her class. She gives the children goals and helps them to accomplish them. She has definitely changed the future education for alot of lives. My sons kindergarten teacher I couldn’t have picked a better teacher for him. I was so worried when he started school and she has reassured me time and time again how good my son had been and how smart and sweet he is. I love her and so does my son. She loves all her kids she gets hugs from them everyday and I know they all love her dearly
She has been a teacher all her life! As a little girl, I installed a black board /chalk on her bedroom wall. She held classes right there for our neighbors kids ,and her brothers and sister. We knew what career she was destined for! She is my JJ

All you have to do is sit and talk with Jennifer for just a few moments and you will know how much she loves and cares for her students.
