A teacher is not merely someone who delivers the content of textbooks. A teacher is someone whose understanding, passion, dedication, and professional expertise in education evolve based on how they perceive themselves and their role. For students with disabilities, a teacher must bring knowledge, a profound sense of compassion, commitment, and a tailored approach to meet each student's unique needs. These requirements are especially crucial for educators with dual qualifications in general and special education, who are equipped to address these challenges effectively.
Ms. Kim greatly respects the students through her ability to share information and teach effectively. She has a wealth of professional knowledge and experience with various collaborative approaches and strategies. These strategies help her successfully implement alternative communication methods while addressing any issues related to conflicts and differences between the child's parents and herself. Ms. Kim is constantly learning and creating mutual understanding by using appropriate teaching methods, emphasizing the importance and necessity of love for students.
Furthermore, Ms. Kim works tirelessly to integrate special education students into the general education setting to the greatest extent possible. She aims to create more opportunities for special education students and their peers to learn and engage inclusively. This passion extends beyond the classroom, as Ms. Kim dedicates time to talking with students and making detailed plans about their futures, including college and career paths. She guides them on how to navigate adulthood with a disability, preparing them for the real world as much as possible.
