LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Vickie McDonald, also known as "Ms. Vickie," was nominated by a friend, Belinda Payne.

Ms. Vickie has dedicated over 30 years to the Fentress County School System. She spent many years teaching first grade before becoming an assistant principal and principal. Currently, Ms. Vickie serves as the Literacy Support Coach for the entire school district. Her passion for children did not end when she left the classroom. She continues to be a strong advocate for kids through her involvement in various organizations, including Dolly's Imagination Library, the Hope Foundation, and The Children's Center.

"For me, Ms. Vickie hasn't just been a colleague, boss, or friend. She has been my encourager when I needed her most. I never had her as my teacher, but Ms. Vickie has pushed me to be the best I can be for the kids. She taught me more than she will ever know," said Payne.
