Music that Describes Celeste

Celeste Hill was nominated by her family member, Reginald Carswell.

Ms. Hill was born with the gift of changing lives; she's a LifeChanger. It is her calling; it is natural and organic.

"What I admire the most about her gift is that it's life-long. I have witnessed many people have a positive impact on others. I have also had a few people in my life that profoundly influenced my own life. The difference with Ms. Hill is that her impact is not temporary, not for a few years, but for a lifetime. I have witnessed adults in their late thirties who still contact Ms. Hill for support, love, and advice. Children she has encountered during their elementary school years who are now adults still return to Ms. Hill, and she is still there for every one of them. She has helped children who have suffered from many illnesses and is still there for them today. The story that resonates with me the most is a classmate of mine," said Carswell. "She said in a newspaper interview, 'If I could just be a Ms. Hill's girl, I would make it.' Said student did become a Ms. Hill's girl. She is an African American woman living in China with two Master's degrees. She comes back to America every year to thank and spend time with Ms. Hill."

There are many LifeChangers in this world, but there is only one Ms. Hill. She has been in the education system for over 25+ years. She has paid her dues; now it's time to receive her flowers. Instead of bowing out gracefully, she has decided to switch positions and become a Community School Coordinator for her last remaining years so that she can reach more students.

"She is not only my LifeChanger, she is a LifeChanger to many, adults included. I would list all her accomplishments, awards, and proclamations, but there is no need for that, and it would take a few pages. Ms. Hill focuses on making a difference in people's lives where it matters most, not in areas where she'll receive recognition. Her work is so amazing that she has received multiple forms of recognition, but that is never her goal. I will end this exactly how I began this: Ms. Hill was born with the gift to change lives; she's a LifeChanger," said Carswell.
