LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Louis Bertenshaw V was nominated by his father, Louis Bertenshaw IV.

Mr. Bertenshaw V was a community volunteer who finished third in his high school class. He won a distinguished alumni award in 2011. He has a bachelor's degree from Augustana College and a masters from NYU. Mr. Bertenshaw V has studied in Germany, Australia and Mexico. He has taught children in Japan for two years and has received an honorary ambassadorship from Japan. Today, he teaches disadvantaged children at Uplift Triumph. He pays for his students' supplies out of his own pocket and counsels their parents on a regular basis. He is well-respected by his peers and an active member of Teachers for America.
