Ms. Boyd has distinguished herself as an outstanding counselor, administrative leader, teacher, sponsor, advocate for students, counselor leader at all levels of instruction, and community supporter in Tallapoosa County. She is a dynamic individual who will take any assigned task and exceed expectations. She has demonstrated her capability of working well with students, community leaders, and fellow teachers, both in the classroom and outside the classroom as a safety coordinator and administrator in the absence of the principal. Ms. Boyd is very active at the school, county, state and national level with counseling education. To list all of her accomplishments would be an overwhelming task, and it still wouldn't tell you what an outstanding asset she is to the leadership team.
Ms. Boyd has served as chair for various accreditation and school improvement committees at Horseshoe Bend, as well as a group leader for the College and Career Ready Standards Teams for Tallapoosa County in educating the parents and stakeholders. She has a strong commitment to family that she shows daily as the mother of two grown and successful children, grandmother, aunt, and caretaker for her mother.
Ms. Boyd is a natural leader in any activity that she is a part of. She is outstanding at helping students and adults unite for the best of the school and community. She is always a doer, never a complainer, and any task that she is assigned will be completed ahead of schedule and with the highest level of professionalism. Ms. Boyd is an intelligent and a perceptive young woman who has many more accomplishments to achieve in her life and career.
Ms. Boyd is passionate, enthusiastic, and cheerful, making her a pleasure to work with on any project. She has a great talent to share and a compassion that shines when she is working with each student to push them to their highest level of accomplishment. While working with her on any project, you can always rest easy that she strives for perfection and the best job that can be done. She enjoys a challenge and is adaptable to any situation. She is everything that an educator and a counselor needs to be and more.

I have worked with Lisa Boyd for the past 16 years and consider her as a wonderful friend and co-worker. She has a gift in seeing the needs of others. Ms.Boyd is deserving of this award because she is good at what she does, in the classroom, in her office and all through the hallways. She really cares about our students, she loves them and can be hard at times if needed.?? through out my years at Horseshoe Bend as Elementary PE assistant I have had students request to go and see her with whatever problems or needs they have, that says a lot in itself, and I never refuse them. I personally take them to her and she is always welcoming and willing to take them in and help. She is also a classy lady and up beat. Ms. Lisa Boyd exemplifies what it takes to be a life changer! Ms. Boyd has been a school counselor for many years and each year, It amazes me how she connects with her students, parents, faculty and staff at HBS. She will be the first to tell you, “I am every student’s voice!” The most important role she plays include “being a “great” advocate for her students!” She always shows a great understanding for her students and their concerns. She finds the good in every child, and uses that good to build them up, building their self-confidence and self-esteem. Her door is always open when it comes to something with one of her students. For several years before becoming our elementary school counselor, Ms. Boyd was the high counselor at HBS. She was also known as one of the best in the County. Even then, she made the time to provide service to all the students. She chose to become our elementary school counselor because she saw a need in our students before they reached high school. Her expertise in the field of counseling is much appreciated at our school, as well as across the Tallapoosa County. She constantly works with parents and teachers to build the relationships we need for students for success! Her work is never done! She will never know how much she is appreciated by her co-workers! Not only does she work to make our school environment better for students’ learning, she makes the environment better for all! She is definitely a life changer..and in so many ways than one! If the question is ever asked, “What would we do without her?” My answer would be, “Right now, we don’t have to! Let’s focus on the present!” We love you, Ms. Boyd and you are truly a LIFE-Changer!!
When my kids came to get school, she made them feel welcome and had a special invitation lunch to talk with all new kids to be sure they were adjusted and no bullying, she helped with my daughter s anxiety from being separated from me, and she knows everyone by name, she is a jewel case n our school.
The fun I had in her classroom 18 years ago will never be forgotten. Her excitement for my work and creativity brought me confidence that has lasted my entire life. Her caring nature and natural way of keeping reign in her classes all while keeping it lighthearted is what every teacher should aspire to have. Such a favorite teacher. I am so proud to be one of the many she taught.
