Luciana Beckles was nominated by a family member, Philistine Norwood.
Ms. Beckles is the epitome of a LifeChanger. She goes above and beyond the calling and the mission she is either being put on or creating for herself. She is very generous, humble, and graceful in every aspect of her life. She is a phenomenal role model and an even better teacher. She loves her students, and they love her even more. She is like an eagle ready to soar in the direction of greatness. She not only impacts her children's and families' lives, but she also impacts her staff and friends' lives. To know her is to love her and understand she has a heart of gold and a milestone of knowledge. Three words to describe Ms. Beckles are beloved, trustworthy, and magnificent
Ms. Beckles is an amazing teacher/woman/mother/friend/aunt! To know this woman is to love this woman. Ms. Beckles put her problems/pride/emotions to the side to help anyone out. She never asks for anything in return. This woman can/could be having a bad day, but you will never know because all she does is smile and sing when you see her. When she talks to you her voice is very calm and soothing (if she raises her voice, she gets mad with herself and will apologize because she doesn't like elevating her voice) and will calm you right on down if/when you are upset. This woman knows how to add that important ingredient to her recipe of life. She has the ability to shine a light on a dark place through the proverbial one-liner, the unpredictable snort, and the hilarious twist of a thought that will immediately release those 'laugh until you cry' moments. She have/has the kind of smile/laughter that will bring out your smile/laughter. Her timing is impeccable, and the giggle you get will naturally lift you higher. Her humorous take on any given turn will shift your day, your outlook, and your step. She can find the funny in just about anything. Humor softens blows, eases strains, bonds brokenness, and heals wounds. She knows this. And she uses it well. This woman has/have no problem helping you with anything that you may need help on/with or anything that you maybe going through in life. She there for her family, friends, community, and other people and their child(ren). Ms. Beckles is full of integrity, love, strength, grace, joy, perspective, wisdom, insight, confidence, strength, passion, humility, honesty and humor and I know because she have truly made an impact on my life. Thank you for being who you are and please don't stop because it is people like me that need someone like you to guide and mentor them (us).
This poem is for her and describes her:
A strong woman is one who loves deeply, and loves fiercely, her tears flow just as abundantly as her laughter. A strong woman is both soft and powerful. She is both practical and Spiritual… A strong Woman in her essence is a gift to the WORLD! –Andrew Guzaldo
