Spend five minutes in her classroom and it’s quite evident that Stephanie McArthur has a “heart for children” of all ages. Whether seniors or sixth graders, she is consistently motivated by what’s best for her students. Watching her interactions with students, you witness a teacher with the unique ability to build connects, foster open, honest communication & demonstrate care all while having high expectations for student performance & maintaining her professional demeanor. These traits, when combined with her exceptional knowledge & skill within her subject area, adds up to a fabulously caring, competent educator who is most certainly a life changer in the field of music education.

Stephanie Richards McArthur Is well deserving of this honor. She was the band director at Nettleton High School where I also taught, and she exhibited such compassion, such a caring attitude, and love for every student in the band. She was well-liked and appreciated by the administration, the NHS staff, parents and students. While serving as band director at NHS, she rented my little house next door, and slways paid her rent on time, and left my house in perfect condition. I can not recommend her highly enough for this honor/award.

Ms. McArthur is an excellent band director, coworker and mentor to students. She builds relationships with each student to help them be their best. She always goes the extra mile to make sure students have what they need to be successful, even if it means dedicating more of her personal time and resources. I am blessed to know and work with her. Congratulations Stephanie.

Ms. McArthur is truly a wizard! At the beginning of the year, students begin learning to play instruments. I often catch myself wondering who let a cat loose in the building. However, by band night in October, students are able to play a song! Then by Christmas time, students perform a full concert. Children are driven to musical excellence in band at SRA. We are so lucky to have such a wonderful band teacher for our students in Gautier.

Stephanie has always had a love for music. She has impacted many young musicians lives. She works hard and is a very dedicated teacher and strives to give her students the best opportunity to excel with their musical talents. I am one proud mother and I’ve watched her work with her students and know the time she gives to each one of them is time she has proudly given. She is very deserving of this nomination.
