Lindsay Parks was nominated by her principal, Amy Nester.

Mrs. Parks is a first-grade teacher who exhibits enthusiasm, patience, and acceptance. She shows these top three qualities in her life and her role as an educator for young students. No matter what she may be going through, she arrives each day ready to facilitate the best learning environment for her students. She perfectly balances fun, active learning and high expectations. Mrs. Parks is a mother of two young children and still finds time to plan fantastic learning opportunities, differentiate for students who need different ways to learn, and support after-school programs such as tutoring or STEM clubs.

"The most amazing qualities I have witnessed are her patience and acceptance of students who have great difficulty in the classroom environment. She has had several students over the years who have been part of her classroom family and have thrived because of the inclusive efforts she puts into place. These students may include those who cannot communicate verbally, have emotional or behavioral needs, or have different learning needs," said Nester. "She is the model for patience with these students. She shows daily that she truly cares about her students and wants to be their light when they may have so much adversity. She is a true blessing to all!"

Mrs. Parks excels as a professional in our division. She has an enthusiastic way of teaching that draws students in, even when they don't realize it. Mrs. Parks has demonstrated that division-wide and state changes are not challenges when her focus is the children in her class. She has made lasting impressions on parents as she gets to know the families outside of her classroom. Mrs. Parks is an excellent candidate for this award and I enthusiastically support her nomination.

Two of my babies have been through Lindsay’s class and I’m so thankful for that! The love and support she shows each and every student is amazing. Even the ones that give her a hard time, she handles them with such grace. I’ve had the pleasure of also working with her some. So I’ve seen it from parent side and coworker side, both of which I have nothing but praises to sing for her. I’m over the moon that she’s getting the recognition she deserves!! ??

Lindsay Parks is my niece. She has always been extremely compassionate, patient and thorough on everything she does. She was a teacher before she was a mother, and she approaches her teaching much like she does motherhood, providing for their needs and enrichment. I am so proud of her and appreciative that her school community has recognized her efforts.????????????????

To the LifeChanger of the Year Award Selection Committee, It is with great enthusiasm and heartfelt gratitude that I write in support of Mrs. Parks’ nomination for the LifeChanger of the Year Award. Mrs. Parks is an exceptional teacher and mentor whose passion, leadership, and unwavering dedication have profoundly shaped the lives of her students, including my own children. Mrs. Parks’ influence extends far beyond the classroom. She fosters a learning environment where students feel safe, valued, and inspired to grow. Her ability to spark curiosity and build confidence has been transformational for my child, who speaks with excitement about learning and frequently shares stories of Mrs. Parks’ kindness and encouragement. Her impact, however, goes well beyond academics—Mrs. Parks empowers her students to believe in themselves and chase their dreams. Her commitment to students as whole individuals is nothing short of extraordinary. She attends their sports games, extracurricular events, and personal milestones, always cheering them on. At one particularly special moment, she supported my seven-year-old daughter’s small business at a farmers market, offering encouragement and heartfelt advice that left a lasting impression on her confidence and determination. This simple act of kindness is just one example of the countless ways Mrs. Parks changes lives by showing her students that they are seen, supported, and capable of greatness. In addition to her remarkable connection with students, Mrs. Parks enhances her school’s culture and pride with her positivity, professionalism, and collaborative leadership. She consistently upholds the highest moral and ethical standards, modeling integrity, empathy, and perseverance. Her presence enriches the entire school community, creating a ripple effect of kindness and excellence. Mrs. Parks is a true LifeChanger in every sense of the word. She inspires, uplifts, and empowers those around her. I wholeheartedly and without reservation support her nomination for this prestigious award. She is a gift to education and a blessing to all who know her.

I am one of Lindsay’s colleagues and she is one of the hardest working people I know! She shows her love for her students every day by going above and beyond for them! So thankful for all the help I’ve received from her this year and cannot wait to learn more incredible things!
