This dude has beaten the odds over and over again. Beating cancer twice is a testament in itself. Wade left college coaching to return to his alma mater St Augustine to rejuvenate a pillar in the state of Louisiana. The entire community is elated again and he is definitely doing God’s work.

I'm proud to support my friend and nominee, Wade Mason, for the Life Changer Award. Over our 30 years of friendship, I've come to know him as one of the toughest individuals I've ever met. His resilience is matched only by his genuine passion for helping kids succeed. Wade's dedication to empowering young people is truly inspiring, and I believe he embodies the spirit of this award. He not only makes a difference in their lives but also inspires others to do the same.
Wade has come home to New Orleans and more specifically, the St. Augustine community, to bring hope to the very space, in which teachers and coaches, poured into him. He deserves this honor because he is changing the lives of young Black men in New Orleans through the life principles taught through the game of basketball.
