Mrs. Lopez has a very strong relationship with her students. When out and about in town, she often runs into current and former students. It is amazing how she remembers all their names. Working with English language learners is very important to her. She has loved building relationships with the families over the years. In the 12 years she has been at Maldonado, she has also worked to bring health and wellness to the school. This includes a bike repair clinic every year, smoothie bike demonstrations, a girls' running club, and the Fuel Up to Play 60 student wellness team. She is a great support to her colleagues, especially with any tech issues. Her colleagues would describe her as flexible, resourceful, and fun. Kids are always asking to go to her class because it is so warm and inviting, filled with all sorts of things that interest her students. Mrs. Lopez is part of the leadership team at her school, where she helps come up with ways to support all the students at Maldonado.
