Ana Lopez Medrano was nominated by her colleague, Paz Stout.

Ms. Lopez is a seasoned educator whose unwavering patience, compassion, and dedication to special education students set her apart. 

"As a valued leadership team member, she could have pursued opportunities elsewhere, but she has consistently chosen to serve the school and its community. Our school, a Title I institution serving low-income, predominantly Hispanic families, benefits immensely from her steadfast commitment. Ana provides constant support and unconditional care to all students, believing that every child is our student," said Stout. 

Her students adore her, and her ability to connect with them is remarkable. Despite difficult situations, Mrs. Lopez has a unique talent for fostering collaboration, ensuring everyone prioritizes what is best for the students. She leads with respect and, in turn, earns respect from everyone around her.

"One memorable interaction stands out: when I was on the verge of giving up on a particularly challenging student, Ana helped me see the situation in a new light. Her insight and encouragement reignited my determination to care for and teach that student," said Stout.

Teaching is undeniably demanding, especially when faced with disciplinary challenges and different perspectives, but Mrs. Lopez makes it seem effortless. Her ability to build meaningful relationships, remain steadfast in her principles, and dedicate herself wholly to her work makes her a true LifeChanger.
