Mr. Rodgers is dedicated to arranging music that all audiences can appreciate and enjoy. He empowers students to reach their full potential as young musicians and academic scholars. His love and passion for music is infectious, and his commitment to the marching band community is unwavering.

Under his leadership, the band has consistently achieved excellence, earned a Grammy Award, gained national recognition, and inspired countless young people worldwide. He also directs the band at Xavier University in New Orleans and was the former band director of The Roots of Music.

Darren Rodgers Jr. is a key figure in the success of the St. Augustine High School Marching 100. As an assistant director of bands, he plays a crucial role in shaping the band's sound and performance. Mr. Rodgers is an alumnus of St. Augustine High School and a former baritone section leader. Because of his academic and musical experience, he is able to bring a deep understanding of the school's traditions and the unique spirit of the Marching 100. He is dedicated to maintaining the band's excellence while also pushing it to new heights. With Darren's distinct collaboration with band staff, the Marching 100 continues to impress audiences with their precision, energy, and musicality. Rodgers' contributions to the band's success are invaluable, and he is an integral part of the legacy of the "Best Band in the Land." I am work alongside of him! Additionally, Mr. Rodgers was a quarterfinalist for the 2025 Grammy Music Educator Award and has been nominated again for the 2026 Grammy Music Educator Award. His musical arrangements are one of a kind spanning across multiple genres. Outside of directing and teaching music, Darren has a harmonious rapport with all of his students. They absolutely enjoy his presence. He is a great role model and is deserving of this award!
