LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Arthur Barad was nominated by a member of the community, Samantha Schultz. 

Mr. Barad is the father of six children and a former military member. He began working as a school resource officer at Clark Memorial Elementary and has changed the lives of everyone at the school and the surrounding area. Mr. Barad plays a vital role in the community and school events. He shares his Asian-Pacific Heritage with the students at the school while playing his ukulele and singing. Mr. Barad goes more than above and beyond his call of duty. He visits the 5th grade classes every Thursday afternoon and mentors several students. Mr. Barad plays music for the kids during drop-off or pick-up at school. It's always uplifting, and he ensures they get in/out of the cars.

"I ran into a student's family member at school, and she tells me her niece was habitually tardy until Mr. Barad became their SRO. Now, the student looks forward to going to school," said Schultz. "Arthur Barad brings the most positive publicity for a school that anyone could ever ask for in a school resource officer."
