Music that Describes Marisol
Marisol Nava Vargas was nominated by her colleague, Denise Cottle.
Ms. Nava, a dual language kindergarten teacher, is a LifeChanger for three important reasons. First, Ms. Nava assisted a colleague in supporting a first-grade student, who was a student in her classroom last year. Second, Ms. Nava serves as a role model because her students achieved the highest scores on standardized tests, which resulted in her looping with her students, or teaching them for an additional year. Furthermore, Aurora East School District 131 awarded her $300 to purchase teaching materials for her students.
"Ms. Nava and I will collaborate on a STEAM event on December 12, 2024, for my first grade and her kindergarten students. During that time, she has planned an art activity and I have planned a science and geography activity," said Cottle.
Ms. Nava has demonstrated excellence as a LifeChanger in teaching as well as collaborating with faculty, staff, and families.
