Mrs. Wilson is truly a transformative figure in her school, and her impact reaches far beyond the confines of her classroom. Mrs. Wilson has become an essential cornerstone of the educational community. With a deep-seated commitment to her students, she consistently goes above and beyond to ensure that every child meets the high standards outlined in her curriculum and feels safe, valued, and welcomed each time they step through her door. Every day, Mrs. Wilson positively impacts her students' lives in profound and lasting ways. She has a genuine knack for recognizing and seizing teachable moments when they arise, turning everyday occurrences into lessons that resonate.
"By integrating real-life stories or events from our hometown and the wider world, she brings context and relevance to the subjects she teaches, making each lesson more engaging. This unique approach captivates her students' attention and encourages them to think critically about the world around them," said Miller.
When students were asked to write letters about their favorite teachers, it was no surprise that most mentioned Mrs. Wilson. One heartfelt letter stated, "Every time I walk into your classroom, my mood always lifts, even on my worst days at school." This powerful sentiment encapsulates the atmosphere she creates—a place where students feel free to express themselves and explore their interests without fear of judgment. Another student shared how she had the best year ever since Mrs. Wilson opened her world to science, igniting a passion for learning that they hadn't known existed within themselves.
Mrs. Wilson's role extends beyond teaching; she is regarded as the school's "go-to" person. Whether anyone needs a helping hand, someone to talk to, extra cross-curricular resources, or innovative ideas for more engaging lessons, Mrs. Wilson is the person to consult. She is always willing to lend her support, share her knowledge, and collaborate with her colleagues. Her generosity extends to sharing ideas from professional developments from the school year and during the summer, during which she shares effective teaching strategies and insights, helping to uplift the entire faculty and foster a collaborative environment.
Despite her myriad responsibilities, Mrs. Wilson holds high expectations for her students, but she also maintains high standards for herself. This steadfast commitment to excellence is evident in her educational pursuits. Having earned her Master's Degree in Education, she is working diligently toward her National Board certification to become a National Board Certified Teacher. This pursuit exemplifies her dedication to professional growth and her desire to provide her students with the best educational experience possible.

As her husband, I witness first hand what a life changer is. When we are out and about and students run up and hug her. When students she did not teach run up and hug her. She is the true definition of a life changer. She has been changing lives in and out of the classroom for 18 years.
Erica is an exceptional teacher. I have met many of her students,that are in their young adult years, that talk about how Erica as a teacher made a positive impact on them.

Mrs.Wilson is not only a wonderful colleague, but she’s also a wonderful teacher. That’s coming from someone who has gotten the privilege of being her student and now her coworker! Anybody that knows her would tell you how wonderful and caring she is, how she is always willing to lend a helping hand, how she will support anyone in anything they do! She truly is a life changer, and having her as my 6th grade Reading teacher was part of the reason I wanted to become a teacher.

When I started teaching Mrs Wilson was my team leader. She was great at helping a young teacher find his way through the ups and downs of being in a classroom for the first time. She is a wonderful mentor. While working with Mrs Wilson she was able to create great relationships in the classroom, which helped with high scores and low discipline issues. She has often thinking outside of the box for activities for her students to complete. She has won numerous grants to help her classes. She is one of a kind. I’m blessed to have worked with her and the kids she has taught are lucky to have her as a teacher - role model.
