Deborah Colorado was nominated by her supervisor, Delundra Peterson.
"Ms. Colorado has been with Fort Bend Independent School District for 30+ years, and I have had the pleasure of working with her. I remember when she adopted her daughter, she was the happiest mother in what seemed like the world. She never gives up," said Peterson.
There have been many challenges within the Child Nutrition Department, and Ms. Colorado always says "we will get through this." She has never given up. She has had surgery on her legs, now walks on a cane, and still shows up to work every day.
"I was a manager like Deb, and now I am honored to be her supervisor," said Peterson.
Most of the staff who work under her have been with FBISD just as long as she has, if not, longer. If anyone needs to be recognized, it is Ms. Colorado for her perseverance, encouragement, and dedication to her work.
