LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Percy Glasper was nominated by a lead teacher, Patricia Reese. 

Mr. Glasper, also known as "Mr. Percy," is a great example of a LifeChanger because he motivates, inspires, and makes a daily difference in scholars' lives. He makes sure he encourages scholars so that they can succeed in all their endeavors. For example, most scholars at his school have difficulty eating the food in the cafeteria, but Mr. Percy makes it seem like they are eating a gourmet meal. He talks about choices of food that relate to everyday life, and students can't wait to hear what he talks about each day.

His nominator states, "I had an opportunity to speak with him about a student that never ate in the cafeteria. I explained that he would go all day without eating or drinking anything. He talked to the young man about it and the next day, I couldn't believe it, he ate lunch. Mr. Percy said 
'I told him that the body and mind have to have a balanced meal, and if you make poor choices now, as simple as not eating for 8 hours, you will probably make them in the future. I told him the quickest way to failure is by making poor choices.' That touched my heart because the student never ate anything out of the cafeteria but had one conversation with Mr. Percy and started eating every day."

He ensures that scholars have a deeper understanding of themselves so that their choices will lead to success.
