Music that Describes Theresa

Theresa Herried was nominated by a colleague, Marcia Riendeau.

Ms. Herried makes the school day better in many ways. Her cheery voice is a welcome start each morning when the lunch orders are called in, and when the hot lunches are picked up, there is an exchange of encouragement and positivity. Her care for the high school students she serves is evident in her thoughtful and kind demeanor, making her a favorite among students and staff. She is always warm and welcoming to the lunch helpers who assist with the daily lunch run, ensuring they feel appreciated and included.

Last year, when Ms. Herried faced a health crisis, the support from her fellow staff members was nothing short of inspiring. They rallied around her during her treatment, even wearing tattoo stickers to show solidarity as she went through each round of chemotherapy. The joy was palpable when she was declared cancer-free, and the entire school community shared in that victory. This Halloween, her colleagues dressed as Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, with Ms. Herried playfully chosen to be Grumpy—a lighthearted moment that reflected her fun-loving nature. However, she joked that she must not have had her coffee that morning!

Ms. Herried also cares deeply about the Waupaca community. She has volunteered her time to help hand out gifts for Amoco's "Christmas for Children in Need" project, showing her commitment to giving back. Through her daily actions and the kindness she spreads, Ms. Herried truly makes the world a better place. Her positive energy and genuine care for others have a lasting impact on everyone she meets.

"Recognizing her for the joy she brings to so many lives would be wonderful," said Riendeau.

I can’t think of a better person deserving of this award! She’s an amazing light hearted person who will give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. She’s always there when needed and super supportive. Even when battling cancer she was someone you could brighten your day just by being there. Day in and day out she changes lives and I know she leaves a huge impacts on the students that she serves :)
