Senetta Williams passed away on November 9th, 2024. On behalf of the LifeChanger of the Year team, we send our deepest condolences.
Senetta Williams was nominated by a colleague, Jacqueline Sanders.
Ms. Williams stands out as a LifeChanger in her community because of her unwavering dedication, kindness, and genuine care for the students, staff, and families at Marshall Elementary School. As a lunch clerk, she is pivotal in ensuring that every child is nourished and supported physically and emotionally during their school day. But her impact goes far beyond serving meals. Ms. Williams takes the time to know each student by name, making them feel valued and seen, which profoundly affects their sense of belonging and self-worth. For many children, lunchtime can be challenging, but Ms. Williams transforms the cafeteria into a warm, welcoming environment where they feel safe, respected, and appreciated.
Beyond her duties in the lunchroom, Ms. Williams often goes out of her way to lend a helping hand wherever it’s needed, whether it’s comforting a student having a tough day or assisting teachers with various tasks to ensure that children have everything they need. Her acts of kindness ripple through the school, touching countless lives. She is a steady, compassionate presence, setting an example of selflessness and service that resonates throughout the Marshall Elementary community. In an often overlooked role, Ms. Williams exemplifies what it means to be a true LifeChanger. She embodies the values of compassion, dedication, and community spirit, making an indelible impact on everyone she meets. Her influence extends beyond just her job title; she is a cornerstone of Marshall Elementary, shaping the lives of young students and fostering a positive, supportive environment that empowers them to succeed.
Your presence here on earth is definitely missed!! You were the balance to a lot of people lives!! Those kids at Marshall miss their Auntie and so do I!! You always gave to me, the kids, and people around you!! Miss you so much my one and only sister!! Versus N Serena
Senetta Senetta Senetta…..Lord i miss you like crazy. I meet this very special young lady by herself doing my hair and that was over 15 years ago and we were locked in like glue ever since. She was not just a special friend she was more like a sister to me and was one of the most selfless persons I knew. If she could help you she definitely would without asking the what’s or why’s. I think about you a lot and I miss you like crazy. Just know that your work here on earth speaks volumes of the person that you were. I love you and miss you soo soo soo much!!!
Ms. Senetta Williams was the apple of everyone's eye. She always had a listening ear. She was a radiant of sunshine. Her smile and laughter will truly be missed. You will always be in my heart my niece.

It is so much that can be said about Senetta. She was smart, sincere and had such an angelic heart, she is one of the best you could ever have known. Her voice was of an angel. She was a beautiful & gentle soul that cares about everyone. The life Senetta lived definitely speaks for itself. I will greatly miss you my dear cousin. I love you beyond life!
She is that early morning sun that wakes you up. She that rainbow after the Storm. She is that singing red bird that sounds pleasant that you always will hear. She is that bright star at night that so high over the clouds. She is more than diamonds. She have been our sunshine after all our rainier days. Her heart will never stop beating in us that love her. She did what many could never do in a million years. Love,Care,Laugh, Sing, Dance and Cooked and fed every one. From the heart of some who gave to so many and wanted nothing in return. My baby is in Jehovah Care the best place ever. See you later NetNet!!!

Where do I start!! Senetta Williams is an example of a selfless person. No matter how she was feeling she would push herself daily to make sure she saw her kids at school. Once you were in her presence it was hard to leave. She has been an apart of my life since 2007 and I have seen every version of her. The funny, serious, loving, caring and nurture mother, sister, daughter and auntie. In 2018 she when I delivered my son Senetta was right by myself!! She made sure I was good and she made it easy where and thats when I knew she love me cause sis saw it all lol!!! When my son started going to school at Marshall Elementary and would see how her and coworker interact with each and it showed the love and respect the ladies had for each other. Then, it would’ve transfer to the kids that came through her line because to some of the kids she was their auntie. Senetta would embrace them as her niece or nephew. Even in her absence she still making an impact with the memories left behind. Thanks to Ms. Sanders for nominating her because she definitely demonstrated the title of a Lifechanger inside and outside of Marshall Elementary. You are missed and forever love sister!! My bestie/sister was one of a kind. To know Netta, you would have known that she was truly an angel. She was never mad or upset about anything. She always told me, life is too short, stop getting so upset, life is too short. She loved her school nieces and nephews. Until this day, some of the kids don’t know of her passing and still ask about her. Knowing Netta, everyone was family. She just had the heart of pure gold.
Senetta is truly a loving, kind, and amazing person. She treats everyone who comes in contact with her as if they were family. Anything she can do for you is just a word. Marshall Elementary is not just a job to Senetta, it was her home away from home where she could be a mother figure to a child, a friend to the lonely, or just a beautiful soul to brighten everyone's day. Through music and laughter she truly is a LIFE CHANGER leaving her mark on the heart of us all through her acts of kindness and love.
Ms. Williams was a very delight. She was dependable, always very helpful. She was a joy to be around.

Ms. Senetta Williams is a very loving and caring person. She genuinely cares and will do anything for any and everyone she comes into contact with. All children love her and have adapted to calling her "Auntie Net". This is because of the love she pours into them.

Net could sing too, not everyone knew that, but she had an amazing voice. She loved her job and the people she worked with. Net was one of my best friends if she could help you, she would. Her passion for life and motivation to keep going was driven by her family, she loved her family. Senetta’s legacy will continue to live on through the lives of everyone that she touched.

You were never hungry if you were near her—whether friend or foe, she always made sure there was a meal to share. In her presence, you felt loved, welcomed, and comforted, as though everything was going to be okay. Through her tireless work, she transformed lives and inspired others with her generosity and passion.
