Melby goes beyond her duties by creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere in the cafeteria that students and staff look forward to daily. Melby takes the time to learn each student's name and often goes out of her way to ensure every child feels seen and valued. Whether it's offering a comforting smile, helping students who may struggle during meals, or providing encouragement to those who need it, Melby has a unique ability to connect with others.

"Beyond providing nourishing meals, Melby also cares deeply about the well-being of our students. She has introduced initiatives such as breakfast in class and hot supper meals to promote better eating habits and positive interactions among students. Her proactive approach not only encourages a healthier lifestyle but also builds a sense of community in the cafeteria," said Butts.

She consistently goes above and beyond, assisting colleagues whenever needed, training new staff members, and maintaining the cafeteria's high standards. Her dedication, professionalism, and kindness inspire others and set a high standard for all food services staff.
