Allison Palfy was nominated by a colleague, Debbie DeRoller.

Thanks to her visionary approach to education, Ms. Palfy has had a transformative impact on the special education landscape at Immaculate Conception Catholic School and within the Augusta, GA community. When she joined the school in 2013, it was dedicated to providing quality education, but it seemed to have lost its sense of mission. Recognizing this, Ms. Palfy led a pivotal initiative to establish a comprehensive special education program that has since become a cornerstone of the school's identity and its mission within the community.

Her commitment goes beyond simply overseeing the program; Ms. Palfy actively collaborates with teachers, families, and specialists to ensure every student receives the tailored support they need. Under her leadership, Immaculate Conception Catholic School has grown into a supportive, inclusive environment where students of all abilities are welcomed, celebrated, and empowered to thrive.

Ms. Palfy continuously advocates for the resources, training, and innovative teaching methods necessary to help every child reach their fullest potential. Since 2015, the school's special education program has grown from just seven students to over a hundred, ranging in age from 3 to 25. In 2022, she helped launch the school's Bridges Program, an adult transition program designed to support students moving beyond their K-12 education.

In addition to her role as an advocate, Ms. Palfy serves as a mentor, fostering a culture of empathy and understanding among staff and students alike. Her dynamic vision and leadership have impacted the school and the broader community, helping pave the way for countless students to succeed. Her motto, "Families First - Partners for Life," reflects her deep commitment to the students and families she serves.

"For these reasons, she is proudly nominated as a LifeChanger of the Year," said DeRoller.
