Caylee Thompson was nominated by a colleague, Karen Nixon.

Ms. Thompson works at an alternative school where some students require extra guidance. She has made positive connections with those students ever since her first day. She demonstrates a genuine interest in them and participates in a number of school activities. Ms. Thompson encourages students to make good choices and praises them when they do. By doing so, she supports a positive and nurturing school climate for staff and students. When she transitioned to a new position, her colleagues were sad to see her go but excited about her new endeavors in Stanly County Schools. Since her promotion, she continues to check on the students and the school. Ms. Thompson is a true example of dedication and investment in the future.
